Our team offers full-service veterinary care to companion animals in Marietta and the Northern Atlanta Metro area. We practice in a newly renovated facility and are equipped with the latest in medical technology as well as a full, tenured support staff. Position Overview: The Groomer will collaborate with our clients to ensure the safety and well-being of their pets through expert grooming. This role requires a high level of skill, experience, and exceptional customer service. The ideal Groomer is not only a proficient pet stylist but also a pet enthusiast who excels at customer interactions. They should be organized and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate proficiency in various grooming tasks, including bathing, drying, ear cleaning, deep brushing, de-matting, breed-specific cuts, teeth brushing, and nail trimming.
- Manage pet intake, engage with clients during drop-off and pick-up, and effectively communicate with clients regarding any issues.
- Clearly explain the grooming process to clients and make service recommendations based on the pet's needs.
- Provide clients with cost estimates and timeframes for grooming services.
- Collaborate with the front desk to schedule appointments and communicate with clients.
- Maintain detailed records of grooming work performed.
- Consult with clients after grooming sessions to discuss future needs, pet health, and additional recommendations.
- Adhere to a timely appointment schedule.
- Select appropriate bathing products and tools for specific services.
- Trim and comb pet hair according to breed standards and desired styles.
- Prioritize safe handling techniques to keep pets calm and under control.
- Monitor pet health and well-being during grooming and alert technicians to any medical issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the grooming area, including cage cleaning, sweeping, and mopping.
- Display a deep passion for delivering quality pet care and grooming.
- Fulfill any other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of recent grooming experience.
- Proficient in safely handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
- Skilled in grooming dogs and other pets according to breed-specific requirements or owner preferences.
- Competent in tasks such as gland cleaning, ear cleaning, and nail trims.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Willing to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectants, sanitation chemicals, and animal dander.
- Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrates a deep love for animals and exercises patience and care when handling pets.

Position Overview: The Kennel Assistant supports and adds value to an efficient organization dedicated to quality care and exceptional service. This position supports veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment; feeding, exercising, restraining and handling pets.
Essential Functions:
- Provides compassionate care to pets
- Feeds animals as prescribed by the attending Veterinarian or as the owner has requested; records appetites; water intake, as well as fecal and urine production
- Recognizes and reports any unusual conditions or abnormal behaviors and monitors pets for signs of distress or disease.
- Assists Veterinarians and technicians with pet restraint
- Maintains the cleanliness of the hospital each day; cleans equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies; ensures the safe use of chemicals
- Follows a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing all cages, runs, wards, and related areas; changes litter boxes and food/water bowls
- Completes the weekly and monthly chore list to maintain hospital cleanliness, equipment, and the overall appearance of the hospital
- Correctly prioritizes tasks
- Maintains laundry for the kennel and hospital
- Provides patients with fresh, clean bedding when appropriate
- Walks patients according to schedule
- Understands and carries out oral and written directions
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Remain professional and courteous to clients and co-workers while handling multiple tasks at once with many interruptions.
- Learn and understand our services and health recommendations and be able to clearly communicate these to clients.

Tasks include:
Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews, reviewing care plans and records, completing laboratory tests and studies, and diagnostic imaging.
Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, drugs, and vaccines, and bandaging and wrapping wounds.
Support patient examinations and operations by assembling required supplies and instruments, securing and bringing patients to examination rooms, and restraining patients.
Fill prescriptions and administer medications, including proper documentation, logging and security of controlled drugs.
Maintain a safe, secure, healthy and humane environment by following documented standards and procedures in compliance with applicable legal regulations.
Maintain medical records by documenting patients’ conditions, reactions, and changes; updates database in an accurate and timely manner.
Ability to demonstrate and follow correct procedures in catheter placement, phlebotomy, emergency medicine, and digital radiology.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform various laboratory tests and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Take and develop X-rays of animals
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Clean and maintain equipment and exam rooms
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Experience:
- Previous experience as a veterinary technician or similar role preferred
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with veterinary equipment and tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment

The RISE Mentorship Program is a rotational, immersion & skill-building, experience structured to support the transition from academia into clinical practice. Participants will be paired with an experienced mentor, while they practice medicine and manage their own caseload. Participants will move through the program with a nationwide cohort providing an added layer of peer mentorship and the foundation for a professional network. At the conclusion of the program, a one-year contract will be extended for you to continue full-time with continued mentor support
Who is this program for?
- New or Recent veterinary school graduates who are passionate about practicing high quality medicine and learning on the job, while developing new skills and strengths under the guidance of an experienced veterinarian
- Veterinary school graduates who are unsure whether they would prefer to go the ER or GP route
What is the program?
- Full-Time opportunity for you to practice medicine, learn on the job, and have additional support through a structured mentorship
- You will have the option between a 6-month rotational mentorship program (3 months in GP and 3 months in ER), or a 3-month mentorship (either GP or ER)
- Salary: $100,000 for GP and $115,000 for ER during the 3 or 6-months, plus the opportunity to earn production and pay increase as you transition into your one-year contract

- Housing stipend provided during the 3- or 6-month mentorship experience
- Student loan repayment stipend
